Event Cancelled
After monitoring the weather, the Alberta Lure Coursing Association (ALCA) has given great consideration and decided to CANCEL all CAPS & Sprinters for the weekend of JULY 19-21, 2024.
ALCA has been in the process of taking every precaution for both the humans and the canines due to extreme heat warnings. We had purchased more shade tents, more spraying equipment and had arranged to truck in water for multiple canine cooling pools. Our goal is alway to ensure safety first.
As at 3:30 pm - Thursday, July 18, 2024, as a group we made a decision to cancel based on the following information by the Canadian Weather Forecast Network:
Forecast during our trial: Friday Evening Celsius 35 , Wind - 14 km, Humidity 37%, Feels like 39-40
Saturday Day Celsius 33 , Wind - 11 km, Humidity 46%, Feels like 37-38 High Risk of Sever Thunder Storms - noon and 5 pm
Sunday Day Celsius 34 , Wind - 9 km, Humidity 44%, Feels like 38-40
