Biography
|
Dayna Johnston has had a lifetime of involvement in breeding, exhibiting and loving pure bred dogs. Dayna was born into a family who have had a long history with the breeding and exhibiting a variety of breeds including Gundogs and Terriers. Whilst growing up surrounded by English Cocker Spaniels, in 1977 the family branched in to Toy breeds, in particular Australian Silky Terriers and Pomeranians. Dayna still proudly owns, breeds and exhibits Australian Silky Terriers under the Gayplad Kennel prefix, co owned with her mother Pat and sister Tanya, and owns the 2023 NSW Show Dog of the Year. Dayna has also owned Pomeranians and Pekingese and exhibited English Cocker Spaniels, Pugs and Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
In 1998, Dayna attained her dream of owning and exhibiting a Miniature Poodle. With expert guidance, knowledge and support, Dayna has gone on to exhibit and breed many Australian Champions under the Coifico Kennel Prefix, in partnership with John Edwards.
In 1991 Dayna gained her ANKC Toy Group license and is now licensed to judge All Breeds. Dayna has had the honour and opportunity to judge across Australia and overseas, including Singapore, New Zealand, Scotland, Sweden, Norway, Canada, South Africa, and Ireland. |
